The Elbhangfest
The Elbhangfest, the festival along the Elbe river, extends from the bridge Blaues Wunder up to Pillnitz, making it a 7 kilometer long fairground.
The three main stages are in Loschwitz, Wachwitz and Pillnitz. In between, there are numerous events of all kinds, wine tastings, great food, and much more.
Highlights
Parade from Loschwitz to Pillnitz — 40 phantasy floats with the topic »Dreams«, Saturday 11:00 until approx. 13:00 along the Pillnitzer Landstraße
Open-air event with illuminated boat corso on the Elbe river from Pillnitz to Wachwitz, Saturday starting at 21:00.
At approx. 22:30, the boats arrive in Wachwitz for a show called »Der Elbhang träumt – The slopes of the river dream« Afterwards, there will be dancing with the South American rhythms of the Chico Trujillo group.
Keimzeit, East German acoustic rock, a band that has been successful for 30 years with its very own style, Saturday 21:00, stage in the wine village in Loschwitz. Afterwards rock'n roll show with Tom Twist.
Pillnitz dreams »Unplugged«: Park of sounds in the English Garden with 15 displays for listening and playing along the pathways and on the meadows, Saturday/Sunday all day. On both days, unusual instruments will be introduced next to the statue of Flora between 13:00 and 19:00.
Closing concert with Tom Pauls, the famous Dresden comedian – a Saxon version of Mendelssohn-Bartholdys »A Midsummer Night Dream«, complete with dialect, hilarious misunderstandings, a location between Bad Schandau and Schmilka, and musicians from the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.
